Founder's Letter

Future Northslopian:

It is a genuinely exciting time to be building technology. The frontier of what’s possible is expanding, and we have more capacity to make a personal impact on the world than individuals ever have before. It’s also an incredibly uncertain, and often unnerving, time to be shipping software. The sheer pace of technological change and the rapidly evolving nature of how human engineers add value creates a career paradigm most of us have never experienced. It is our privilege to build in an era of optimism, promise, and existentialism, all at once.

But for all that change, the logic of where best to spend your working energy remains the same. Your time is precious. And whatever your mission, the world has urgent problems for you to solve. We need your best today and for decades to come. It is imperative to find a mission that fires you up to deliver outcomes today, while accelerating what you will be capable of tomorrow.

If you’re reading this, you’re in search of the best place for you to do that, and you have options. As you consider what team jersey you’ll wear for the next few years, I’d humbly share my personal criteria for choosing my next career chapter. I optimize for:

  1. Solving hard problems that matter with people who inspire me.
  2. Accelerating my rate of growth so I can have more cumulative positive impact on the world.

We work with real people solving real problems, and you can see what works and what doesn’t across all these use cases in a highly-accelerated period of time. We are a 100% trust culture, you own your customer’s outcomes and are running your own startup on every project. Many of you will leave Northslope to start your own companies someday.

There are so many amazing places to build in AI right now. Northslope might be a place that aligns with your personal mission set, and our environment might be a tremendous accelerant for the ways in which you personally want to grow. But it also might not - this is the point! As you go through our hiring process, interview us. Compare us to your other options. Family Care

Up to four months of fully paid parental leave, plus the option for a modified work arrangement when you return in order to support you at every stage of family life.

Health Coverage

We cover 100% of health, dental, and vision premiums for you and your dependents. Plus, we contribute monthly to your HSA: $100 for individuals, $150 with one dependent, or $200 with two or more.

Retirement

Choose from Traditional or Roth 401k plans, and we'll match 100% of your first 1% of contributions and 50% of contributions from 1–6% of your base salary, with no vesting period.
